Good news for all Pawhost customers: we are now directly connected to DE-CIX in Düsseldorf - one of the leading internet exchange platforms. Together with optimized routing, this means one thing above all for you: a faster, more stable network.
What is DE-CIX?
DE-CIX (Deutsche Commercial Internet Exchange) is one of the world's largest operators of internet exchange points. At its Düsseldorf location, numerous networks exchange their traffic directly. A direct connection means our traffic takes shorter, more direct paths to many networks - without unnecessary detours via third parties.
What we've improved
- Direct peering: connection to DE-CIX Düsseldorf for short paths to many providers.
- Optimized routing: we reworked our routing strategy so packets take the fastest stable path.
- Fewer hops: shorter paths mean fewer intermediate stations - and therefore fewer potential points of failure.
- Higher network quality: more stable connections and less fluctuation (jitter).
What this means for you
In gaming especially, every millisecond counts. Thanks to the improved connectivity you benefit from lower latency and a more stable connection to your game server - less lag, less rubberbanding, a smoother experience. Reachability also improves noticeably for VPS, websites and other services.
More to come
The DE-CIX connection is another step in our ongoing network expansion. We continuously work on improving routing and capacity further - for the best performance we can offer you.
